Weak inducer of apoptosis in some cell types. Promotes angiogenesis and the proliferation of endothelial cells. May modulate cellular adhesion to matrix proteins. Highly expressed in heart, placenta and kidney. Intermediate expression in lung, skeletal muscle and pancreas.
